I'm looking for a fit like my new standards (a bit tapered like new cures is fine as well), but in a light wash; is there anything out there that you guys know of? Preferably cheaper than the 165 I payed for my NS. Thanks a lot!

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

I am a thin build girl with skinny hip and bums, I normally wear a size 25 in Paige denim, and thought I give the selvedge raw a try. The 24 of New Standard is too bulky in the high waist leg,...

Try Acne's "Max" cut. Acne has a lot of simple mid- and light blue washes for this season... http://shop.acnestudios.com/shop/men...denim_model=82 Personally, I like "Le Fresh" and "Value"... http://shop.acnestudios.com/shop/men...esh-34919.html http://shop.acnestudios.com/shop/men...lue-34934.html And "Le Blue"... http://www.ideologyboutique.co.uk/pr...esc.php?id=359

You do realize that APC makes a light washed version of the New Standard, right? A tad more expensive than the raw, but:

The Acnes are a good recommendation, they have some of the best washes for the money. Dior is also an option, but also quite expensive
I'd only say "best washes for the money" on stuff that's below $250. Their $350-400 jeans are just a bit excessive. As for Dior, if you have the cash for it, more power to you, but the only clothing item I'll spend $500 and up on are suits. The OP wanted something cheaper than APC's raw denim which outside of Yoox or Gilt will be hard to find.

These, however, from Yoox, are pretty cheap, if the OP takes a 31 or 36. I'm 99% sure these are Max.
Link ?
You can recognize the "Max" cut by the flat rivets on the backpockets, the low(er) waist, the slight taper and the small(er) leg opening. "Mic ( regular )", "Mod" ( loose ) and "Moc" ( loose ) are cut different. The only Acne cut which is available at Yoox and pretty similar to "Max" is "Mix", which isn't made by Acne anymore since ~ 2 years, though. And the new cuts, "Snake" and "Roc", didn't even pop up on Yoox so far....

Currently, Acne's most expensive jeans retail for exactly €230/$285 and are ripped/destroyed washes, which probably aren't exactly well-liked in here and what the OP is looking for, anyway. Most current season's models, especially the rather simple light washes, range between 140€-170€|$175-$210. I think that's tolerable, although "slightly" out of the OP's budget....

Not necessarily. Acnes ( "Max" or "Mic" ) and Nudies ( I prefer "Grim Tim" and the new "Tube Kelly" cut ) can often be found for cheap on Ebay...

Maybe I exaggerated a bit, but looking on Acne's site, especially their outlet, you can see jeans that retailed for $350+, including these bad boys:

And yea, I forgot about ebay, didn't really think about it because I prefer going to a regular store/web store for my stuff.
