Lets not forget Crabtown's contribution to the sartorial world: baggy jeans which stop mid-calf (popularly known as Baltimore shorts) paired with a 5X white tee shirt.

DC is pretty preppy, and there are many "young professionals" from all over the world there. These yuppies have more awareness of good dress than people in most of the rest of the country. However, DC still has lots of styleless lawyers and government employees in large baggy suits or chinos as well. Baltimore seems more similar to the conglomerations of Wallmart shoppers in the flyover states that are the more typical American cities.

Q: Why is Baltimore so poorly dressed?

A: Because you are not there every day working hard to get them to change their ways. It is recommended that you walk up to every person you meet that is sartorially substandard and personally criticize their wardrobe until they agree with you. Please video your encounters and post them here to encourage others to do the same in their city.

And? Any more type C,D or E?...

What is the link between doing things for the sake of it and being an overacheiver?

No the theory fails at identifying others. Legend has it that the psychologist who figured this out was coaching high-achievers who sat forward on chairs wearing them out in a specific pattern.

With all the hospitals and healthcare oriented places, a good portion of your professionals are in scrubbs 50% of the time too.

What do you mean? They go hand in hand. Not saying that true overachievers don't often do meaningful things, just that along the way I think they tend to also end up putting way more effort into some things than they need to.

For example, the firm I work for is full of Type-A people by all accounts. The firm is obsessed with annual performance reviews. Each person's review is 10 pages long, and is informed by 15-20 fact-finding interviews that the assessor must undertake. It takes about 40 hours for an assessor to put one of these together before they must present it to a murder board. The assessment goes into things like how collaborative you are. I mean REALLY!?!?!?!?

WHO GIVES A ****?! Did your job get done? Was it done well? OK. Move the **** on.

This is certainly doing things for the sake of it.

1) That's not how the A/B types are defined.
2) This "theory" is long discredited.

I can see your point but having the "Can do" attitude alone will not make you an overachiever...

My company used to like to do appraisals and it is widely perceived as a waste of time and resources...

It took them a few years to get that point and they keep them to the minimum legal requirements..

I'm like you ,straight to the point ,a doer and I'm fat from being an overachiever..

The ugliness isn't their main problem. The problem is they are LAZY. Since the guys are by and large taste-lacking, desperate government workers who will screw anything, the women in DC get away with ill-fitting clothes, no mani- pedis, absolutely no sense of style, dirty flip-flops, and a general lack of femininity. Out of all the cities I visited/lived in, DC women are the most manly... But I blame this on the DC guys. The women could easily fit-in in NYC, but if they go there, they clean up their act. NYC guys are much more discriminating.
