I probably should be offended because I live in the J. Crew thread but damn that was funny. Well played.

Almost all zippers in this kind of product and in this price range are made from an alloy of copper, zinc, and nickel. The ususal proportions are 5:2:2. I don't think there's a detectable variance from these proportions in either the j. crew or levis zippers.
