The only good time to be a sports fan is when you win a championship. Other than that its just pain. Oh and the Capitals choked almost as hard as the Bruins. the were the number 1 seeded team and presidents trophy winners.

I would only feel embarrassed if Montreal got swept the very next round. They're still in it (may not be long though) and have a chance to win.

What's the "something else"? The Nets would probably be willing to part with Devin Harris and one other player in addition to the #3 pick. The Wizards would end up with three good but not great players and become mediocre. I think it's better to start with a star and build the team around him.

I really wish there was a smiley to represent agreeing to disagree. Maybe I'm just scared that we're looking at Kwame Brown pt II. I just don't trust Ernie with a #1. Remember, this is the team that wanted to build around Calbert Chaney for god sakes. Calbert Chaney!!!

Well if that's the case, it's not good to be a sports fan for the majority of people. Boston and LA have played in over half of the NBA championships; the Yankees have 27 (?) championships in nearly 90 years. 14 of the 32 NFL teams have never won a Super Bowl; 4 have never been. Fans love it, even with no championships involved. As for the Caps out in round 1, people told me that playoff hockey was so much different that regular season hockey, but I didn't understand it. Now I do.

Miss Cleo predicted over a month ago that LeBron would end up on the Wizards. LeBron is a huge fan of Wall, and the Wizards have the money . . . stranger things have happened. I think you would have to throw in weekly pickup games with President Obama and a Jose Andres-run vanity restaurant to clinch the deal.

As always? The Redskins are one of the most successful NFL franchises. Have they struggled for the past 15 to 20 years? Yes. But they have a long history of success prior to that.

You can't let the Ghost of Kwame Brown influence what you do today. Two significant differences between Brown and Wall:

1. Brown came straight out of high school. Wall played one year of college at the highest level against opponents that included older and more experienced players and was one of the best players in the country.

2. Brown had a bad attitude and poor work habits. Wall by all accounts is a gym rat. He achieved a 3.5 GPA in his spring semester at Kentucky (average of the other players on the team was 2.0) even as he knew he would be a high lottery pick. I think that speaks to his willingness to work hard.

Barring injury, I think Wall is close to a sure thing. I'm not adamantly opposed to trading the #1 pick to the Sixers or the Nets, but they'd have to come up with a deal that knocked my socks off. And I don't think they will.

^ Sixers won't, don't know about the Nets though.

I wouldn't be suprised if the Nets end up w/ Wall.

I find their owner intriguing as hell. He obviously has the money and from what I've seen in interviews, he's got intelligence and composure to boot.

If I were a Nets fan, I'd be pretty optimistic about the next decade.
