Says 'Omega' on the inner mechanical components (the guts). It was a couple years ago, but i did a bit of research finding out what to look for to make sure its authentic. I wasn't brand new, definitely has been pre-loved.

Lots of research. Learning the Omega authentifiers shouldn't be too hard since there's so many enthusiasts out there. If you have more time for it sign up on a watch forum and ask them or make friends with one of the Omega fan members and ask them if you want to keep the piece you're looking at on the down low

Alternatively, look for guarantees of authenticity or paperwork included in the auction and if it's determine to be fake and you can gather proof, you can recover your money from eBay/paypal/the cc company

Also I am pretty sure I read somewhere that these Seikos dont have a wind up feature

I have Seiko skx009,skx007,Black Monster, and Orange Monster. The watch stops ticking 2 days after being worn so I think the power reserve would be around 48 hours.

Advance the time outside 9pm to 3am, then set the date. Then set the time. You can determine wheter the time is AM (midnight) or PM (noon) by manually advancing the time past 12:00. If the date rolls over to the next day, then the watch is in AM. If not, the watch is in PM.

Thank you for the correction, all along I've always thought it was the time.

Another vote for a vintage Omega. Got one for around 2 bills, and it's been my daily wearer for over 3 years now.

You can get their quartz versions for pretty cheap (ie $300 or less). That one's gonna run you $500+

when are those all black timex from GQ going to widely distributed

Sorry about this being two years old. However this matched up a question I had. I just picked up a SKX007 second cheap and upon arrival it seems to rattle a lot. It's my first automatic so I'm not sure what's normal. A friend has the SNK809 and to my knowledge it's pretty silent. So I guess what would you call normal rattle? Should I have a watch dealer check it out, or is this to be expected?

Thanks.

I always thought Sekonda watches looked great for their price. On eBay, typically below $100. I've been fooled more than once thinking that a watch was a much "nicer" watch than just a Sekonda. Underrated IMO.
