Another Ron Howard/Brian Grazer series. A lot of quirky characters, very good acting, same handheld cinematography. It's tamer, but still quite entertaining. Lots of laugh moments. Episodes on Hulu.

Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are not associated with Modern Family. You are thinking of NBC's new Parenthood which I had really high hopes for but the two episodes I watched were just awful.
Modern Family was created by Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. It's also the funniest thing on network TV right now.

The gay couple annoy me. They seem to be just token characters, and don't act like a real couple to the extent that the other couples do. Every time I see them in a scene I cringe at what the writers will force them to do next. "Ooohhh! I'm wrinkling your linen jacket! I'm wrinkling your linen!"

I like it, but Parks & Recreation is funnier.

One of the funniest shows on TV, and definitely among my favorite new shows of the last few seasons.
Really? My perception is the complete opposite of this. To me, they do a great job of showing them as a couple without being overtly patronizing. Most of the show does a great job of blending stereotypical idiosyncracies with reality, which is what makes it so funny, and the gay couple is the same way. Cam is a good example of this - he fits a number of the gay stereotypes, but he's also quite capable of enjoying stereotypically straight stuff (the football episode, for example).
