Party up in Europe

My brother wants me to initiate him to Europe this summer for about 10 days in August. He has never been.

He only ever goes in the Caribbean - multiple times a year - to relax and party.

I want to bring him to one or two cities that have a strong party scene. We are considering going to Spain (possibly Barcelona + Ibiza), but we want to keep our options open. He really wants to go to Ibiza because he is under the impression that it's the greatest party place in the world.

Which cities, other than London, Paris or Amsterdam fall into this category?

Go to any of those cities in the summer and have fun by yourself, everyone else will be in Ibiza.

never been to ibiza but cant imagine it being that much better (for the cost and what not) than barcelona or amsterdam

Mikonos in Greece was better than Ibiza for party and disco (and cute girls/woman).. but after the greece meltdown i don't know if that's safe or funny anymore..

Ibiza is overrated. Go to Greece. Only one that comes close is Amsterdam.

I was under the impression that Ibiza was an even trashier, more Ed Hardy-ish party scene that the Meatpacking District in NYC?

mykonos is for the ghey, but it's cheaper than ibiza. small timer stuff.
