What would you choose?

Two scenarios: You're 23, have a job paying you 70k a year, with benefits, but you live with a girlfriend potential wife and you have a relatively lackluster social life. Second option, you're 23, making 25k a year, living with a friend in an apartment, have a wonderful social life and a lot of close friends, yet you don't make the big bucks. What would you pick?

This is a stupid question. You go for the money. Friends and such will move on their with lives as things get busier unless they are some trailer trash people who just steal to buy drugs, but that is no better haha.

The decision would be a little tougher to make if the second scenario's salary were 50k/year.

first scenario you can actually buy a starter house and have that as a nest egg if you don't marry.

2nd scenario you might contract a STD or get some fling pregnant and only have that to work with.

I'd choose number one. A lackluster social life is easily changed.
