Leather Goods Connection (LGC) belt colors

Can those of you with LGC belts post up decent pictures of your dark brown, medium brown and light brown belts? I'm thinking of buying a couple of the harness leather belts but the pictures on the LGC site are throwing me off and making it difficult to chose a color. The dark brown appears to be black in some pictures, dark cherry brown in others, while the medium brown ranges from chocolate to red mahogany. Thanks in advance!

Thanks gamelan. So that middle belt is dark brown? Looks much lighter than it appears on the LGC site. Which brown shade is the LGC belt on the very right?

I owned both the dark and medium brown belts from LGC and the picture/description near the middle of this page is pretty accurate...

The medium brown does have a "red mahogany" tinge to it, which I did not really like. The dark brown, is well, dark brown. Never owned a light brown.

different LGC question How thick are the harness leather belts? I have a briddle leather belt from them, which is like 1/4" thick and I'm looking for something thinner. And I'm disappointed to hear the med brown has a mahogany tinge to it, was going to get that, but I guess I'll need to get dark brown.

Thickness of the harness leather, according to his website: "They are cut from 9-10 oz double shoulders (9/64" - 5/32" thick) and are just the right weight for a good solid belt. How thick is that?... about the thickness of a stack of 2 nickels and up to 2 nickels and a dime" Also not liking the mahogany hue of the medium brown, which is really obvious in the sunlit pictures. Would've liked it if it was more chocolate/neutral. Will have to look at other options.

I read that the dark brown is really dark, almost black in most lighting.

I measured mine. Around 4mm.

It's not that dark, IMO. You can clearly see that is brown in most lighting conditions. I have a "chocolate" brown belt (not LGC) that looks black until you compare it side by side with a real black belt. Now that's dark.

shoot, my memory is fading here. middle one is dark brown and i think the one on the right is light brown (it definitely has a reddish tint to it).

my black belt looks pretty black

The dark brown starts out looking nearly black in some lighting, but over time, with wear, it lightens up and develops a wonderful patina. I recommend it highly.

huh? Do you actually own one? Light colored turns darker over time while dark colored turns light, makes no sense...

Yup, I owned a dark brown one. I was surprised how dark it arrived, so I emailed the LGC guy, and he told me that it would lighten up over time. He was right.

This is an oldie but maybe helpful...

Dark brown harness leather:

Dark brown bridle leather:

1 year old. They are a little darker in real life and might have arrived darker but not by much. They never would have been mistaken for black.
