He walked out of this interview because the guy asked him if there was a little Irish in his accent. What an insecure dick.

Russell is then asked about a report that while filming 2000's "Gladiator" that he didn't want to say the movie's famous line, "I'll take my revenge in this life or the next," which promptly ended the interview.

Oh, is there a thread on most awkward/uncomfortable celeb interviews?? I heard an interview with Billy Bob Thornton once where all he wanted to do is talk about his band. I felt sorry for the guy conducting said interview.

Crowe has a long history of dickness. During the Academy Awards years ago somebody was making jokes about Master and Commander or Gladiator (I forget which) and the camera cut to him for a reaction shot and he just sat there with a scowl on his face. Seems like he smacked a service worker somewhere in the face with a telephone a while back too. He's a schmuck.

IIRC, that interview was with him and his band together, and it was prearranged that the questions would be about the band, not his acting. Could be wrong though.

I recall this as well.

He should have decapitated the interviewer, then thrown a sword into the audience and yelled "ARE YOU ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!"

I think BBT was introduced as "the musician and actor" and BB was an ass for the rest of the interview, in a very passive aggressive way. His band mates almost seemed scared of him.

this is exactly what happened. introduced him as both, he's a dick, bandmates solider on, eventually it is revealed why he's being a dick and the interviewer explains that he was simply letting his listeners know who he was through the simplest and most widely recognized manner.

they tried to fix it a bit after that, but it was too little too late. this was in canada on a popular show (the q?), and the band ended up getting heckled at their next show and cancelled the rest of their canadian shows.

i don't really understand the gladiator thing -- did he really not want to say the "this life or the next" line, and if so why?

Im sure people yell it at him as he drives down the road. Im sure many people who see him in public ask him to say it. That has to get under your skin.
