You're bitching about having free time between work and sleep? Are you fucking kidding me? That is your life. Do something. Go to school at nights, volunteer, get hammered, play sports, read/watch the classics, conquer the damn world. The last few months are the first time in my adult life I haven't been going to school at nights and I love it.

Yep. I'm sure tons of people, probably most people on this site, would look at my life and say it's shitty. But I love absolutely every minute of it and there isn't much I'd change in any given circumstance. I enjoy every single day and love where I'm at and what I'm doing. What more could you possibly ask for?

That's what alcohol is for my friend. I recommend you start with beer and then work your way up to the harder, more expensive stuff after you've developed some tolerance and taste discerning ability.

"Several hours"? I get about three hour from the time I get home until the time I go to bed, Mon-Thurs. You simply are not working hard enough.

Quitting time Friday (which is often at 2 or 3) until Monday morning, it's usually the life of Riley though

If you have free time, then there is not an excuse for this. If you got home and had to go to bed immediately just to get 5 hours of sleep before the next working day, then your life would plain suck.

Welcome to the real world haha.

I hated it as well when I finished university (just read your other thread). On top of that, I was a grad mining engineer which meant 12 hour days minimum, residential in shitty mining towns, on call 24 hours a day and all sorts of mind bending rosters and shifts.

You learn very quickly how to make the most of your weekends.

After nearly 10 years in this industry, I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest.

Guys, you know where he lives, right? It's the most depressing place in North America after Detroit and Oakland.

Feel for you Fidel, but unless you work in the oil patch, you have no reason to stay in Edmonton. Even Calgary would be an improvement. You're still young. Quit your job and start a career elsewhere that's much more interesting. You won't regret it.

i wish i was young like you again and have that several hours to kill each day i would change a lot of things. this is america! you can do almost anything with your free time!! go do it!!
