Hello everyone. I'm looking for a list of items that have made an impact in your life when it comes to making life more enjoyable. The only requirement is that they aren't clothes. I'm trying to buy items that I will use for the rest of my life. Quality should be in that sweet spot between class and afford ability. Thank you all.

My only bit of advice here is that you should wait until you are 99% certain that you are living in the place you want to live for the rest of your life. Accumulation of stuff will only make you kick yourself in hindsight when you start moving around and realize that it's not worth hauling all that junk around (even if it is very nice junk).

Manicure set

My dad got one in the 70s when he was in Italy and still uses it weekly.

He could make his own coffee-table legs or something with this. Or best posts to tie his lady-friends to

According to the thread about the lathe he did neither of those, but I still think it makes a great conversation piece. On a serious note, I think a good pepper mill is something everyone should have. A quality pocketknife is another. A set of quality cutlery along with good pots and pans should be on the list too. I know a lot of people don't cook but I think it's a good skill to acquire for many reasons, and having the tools for the job will make things easier.
