Your eBay Buyer Experience (not paypal)

As a buyer, I have been a user of eBay for over 5 years. I always found it hard to find deals, the search engine barely is usable, UI is outdated and the recent fashion eBay portal not too useful and feels misplaced with the rest of the site.

The eBay Buyer Protection is nice, since they are encouraging more sales. What else do you think eBay needs to improve for it to have better buyer experience?

They need to lower seller fees, so sellers can lower prices onto us.

eBay lost its China business because competitors over there didn't charge any fees!

The messaging system is weak, a tabbed message system w/ searchability like Gmail would be infinitely better

The 'Help' system is terrible, ebay uses a step-by-step system to direct users to the page they are looking for rather than simply using hyperlinks

For some reason ebay feels the need to make constant changes - both in layout and usability - that don't improve the site, but rather clutter it up.

there are simply two issues: trust and convenience. They are pretty much taking care of the trust issue (buyers have low risk, sellers take on all risk). Convenience is still a problem. For a model of convenience, see Amazon.
