I have a small zine that is in its infancy. So far I've compiled two issues, but am moving forward on the 3rd and 4th issues as well. Thought i'd whore it up here a bit, if you're interested in contributing content or purchasing a copy check out the blog here: http://lime-zine.blogspot.com/ thanks

looks neat but be wary of crossing the line between authentic and unprofessional

Should have called it Sugar Ape with the Suga in the hole of the R so it looks like the magazine is called Rape but its not.

It's a zine, it's supposed to be unprofessional.

You can make it even snootier and include a mixtape with each issue. Or a 7".

What is it about?

Props for at least trying to pursue one of your interests/passions instead of keeping it safe in the 9-to-5 world like far too many do.

I am looking into releasing a casette in conjunction with a buddy, who has started a 'label' releasing casettes of local music, interviews et cetera. Also, a local record store IIRC can cut 45's and 12 maxi-singles for a small fee... they're re-releasing a ton of long out print stuff now. I might begin to release 45's of interviews once everything has had time to come to fruition.

I have so far done two issues, this is the first I've been able to print. The first was more or less a hodge-podge of things I collected from friends (photography, micropoems, non-professional musings,...) I asked a ton of people to contribute, but ended up not being able to print in color like I'd hoped and am still working on getting the capital to do so. The second issue was completely black and white, 10 pages based on the them of 'childhood'. Memories, pictures, et cetera. I'd hoped for more response, but a lot of my friends have kids or finals to study for... The third issue is going to copy 'american zoetrope' sort of, except instead of 'all story' it will be 'all pictures'. The rest is a suprise.

You really need to do a better job of making it clear what you need submissions for. It is a nice idea but you are not being clear enough in your needs or vision. Vagueness works for the final product but not during conception.

true^^^ I have copies of my zine that need to be purchased by someone. If you'd like a copy the easiest way to get one is by emailing me bobdale.fraser@gmail.com. Once I've received a request I will send a bill via paypal. I'd like to have as many people contributing as possible. I enjoy making this magazine, and at this point am not looking to make any kind of profit but rather break even. I am having fun, and I know a lot of cool people who's work deserves more attention than it is getting. So as far as 'vision' I would like to keep doing this as long as I can and as long as it is fun. The 'Theme' or really lack thereof was inspired by the 'all story' notion of American Zoetrope's magazine. I can remember spending hours on sites that are nothing but pictures. I decided to make an 'all pictures' issue. These pictures can be of anything you'd like to submit, anything that inspires you, frustrates you, anything! There isn't a particular theme I just want a large collection of images acquired from friends and e - quaintances guidelines for submitting email it to me here- bobdale.fraser@gmail.com,please ensure you title your email 'for LIME' and attach any image in JPEG format. (it really is that simple) For any other information or questions about purchasing a current issue, or submitting images to our next issue please feel free to email me. -robbie

So there is no theme at all? Just any picture? I mean are you focusing on people? Domestic scenes? Urban landscapes? Still life/nature? Naked chicks? Help us out so we can help you out. Otherwise I can just send you an old yearbook photo, but I'm sure that's not what you are looking for.
