One of the great office politics films! I'm thinking '50s - same era as "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit" - and probably in b&w.
Fair-sized office (law firm?) head dying or died and many in office hoping to take his place. Quite a few fairly well-known actors. Wish I could recall at least one; then this would be fairly easy. At end one of younger (but not that young) men wins out. Various family members, etc. part of the mix. Large city, I think.
