Anyone have any reccomendations for mens haircut in or around Boston area? I dont want to dish out $60+ for any of those places on Newbury but also dont want to go to some generic old-timers barber shop....

I've found the greatclips/supercuts/sportclips or what ever strip mall place's cut so badly that I can often give myself a better haircut with a pair of scissors and a mirror. Avoid those places.

In Boston I'd go here:

Are you looking for a barber or a stylist? I suppose that depends more on things like your hair length and how traditional a cut you want. What do you consider the "surrounding area"? I can think of a good place if you're near Concord. - Keith

do think those styles I posted would be better achieved via a barber shop or a salon (cut by man or woman)? I always seem to have better luck when a man cuts my hair, but I have yet to go to a Barber shop. I was thinking of trying a place called the Concord Barber Shop in Concord MA. I was just gonna bring a photo of the style I wanted.

Personally, I'd steer clear of a barber shop for that kind of hair style. Unfortunately, most salon stylists are women, so if you have better luck with men cutting your hair, you may need to shop around quite a bit.
