This is the last season but it is fucking ending strong and is already shaping to be the best 24 season yet. Last night's torture scene was fucking brutal. Jack gutted the sniper when swallowed the sim card and pulled it out of his stomach ffs.

Agreed. Best season since season 2. The daybreak episode where they acquire the bomb (first of the back-to-back episodes a few weeks back) and the episode before last (where Dana escapes) were easily the best 24 episodes in years.

And I know it might sound odd to people who just consider 24 pulp fiction, but there are always these little glints of visual poetry. The scene where Jack shot Dana in the construction site where all the light was diffused with plastic sheeting was one of them. The scene in season 2 where the nuclear bomb is about to go off at any time, but it cuts away to Kim and the survivalist in the bomb shelter, remains one of the most powerful moments in televison I've ever seen.

I wasn't aware this was the last season. It's unfortunate, because I would have liked to have seen another season or two as strong as this one.

It is a very strong ending. Last night had my eyes glued to the TV yelling at commercials. Although this is the last season they said that there may be a chance of a 24 Movie.

You would think they would say something about this in the promos. If this is in fact the last season, do you think... erhm... Jack... ummm... dare I say it?

24 movie is definite. So I doubt Jack is gonna bite it. He could definitely be presumed dead or missing though or maybe imprisoned. Plus Jack can't die, he's immune to it by now.

The bad guys' mistake is that they keep using machine guns. If they'd just read Roger Ebert's movie glossary, they'd realize that machine guns never actually kill anyone important.

Didn't know this was the last season. Now things make sense. Was wondering how Jack was gonna get around the fact that he executed a prisoner at point-blank range and directly disobeyed Presidential orders. "Oh you dumb bastard, you swallowed it didn't you?" Jack is awesome. Can't say that it's the best season yet. It's better than the last ones, that's for sure. I really liked the ones with Nina in it (2-3?).

Season 1 is unbeatable, but I skipped a few along the way cuz they were getting dumb... but this season has been great.

It's over.

I shall miss watching Jack efficiently kill people.

He was a 007 for our times - and I suspect, like BOND, they will find a way to bring him back, even if it requires another actor.

No one other than Keifer could be Jack. And there's a 24 movie in production so we'll get one more dosage of bauer.

Damn, I can't believe 24 is over. Been watching since high school and all through college. Great 8 seasons of entertainment.

No one else was horribly disappointed by the finale? There were only a few scenes that really got my heart moving, like when Chloe shot Jack.

Pretty uneventful. Didn't they use this same ending before once or twice? Jack has to leave the country and go rouge agent or face charges.
