AllSaints Quality?

Thread Starter
Having visited my first Allsaints, I'm really curious about their quality. The prices seem to be in the J Crew range, but I get a stron HM/Zara vibe. I saw a decent-looking pair of brogued boots selling for $260. When I asked the sales rep who made them he said "we do". That's not a ton of money for boots, but it is a lot for crap.

Experiences? Opinions, please.

I second that. Anyone have any experience with them period?

I went in to their Soho shop today. It seems pretty overpriced, and the leathers look pretty poorly made and uninspired, but I guess a few pieces might be salvageable. I haven't bought anything from there, though. The boots were not as good a leather as the D&G chelseas I was wearing at the time, but I don't really know how much worse they were. And that boot design where the front dips in at the middle so you can tie your laces around the middle of the boot is dope fantastic.

I just got a pair of shorts from them. I washed them in cold water like they said and the water turned black as black can be. Other then that I am still interested in trying more from them.

I'm interested in if they have any good shit as well. Based on their website they have at least a few pieces I would greatly enjoy.

I've bought one of their leather jackets about one year ago ( I can't recall the exact name/style. It was pretty much identical to that BS knock-off though: http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/6/6/0...58863936_o.jpg ) and re-sold it on the very same day. The leather was extremely thin, almost plasticky, exaggeratedly wrinkly and probably not even on par with BS, which is saying something. Fit was so-so. I don't want to run them down though, since that's the only All Saints garment I've ever seen in person. Fit and quality may vary...

That's a very good summary.

I'm primarily interested in the boots too. It's either a bargain or a rip-off pretty much.

would love to see some responses from people who's handled the boots and can compare them to decent boots.

They have a lot of basics faux gothy, and also some ripped off designs. Quality isn't that great. Maybe a bit better than h&m but not as good as most mid end brands. Probably like a uniqlo or shades of greige kinda thing from what i remember. Haven't handled all kidns of pieces but it's not special or anything. Just inspect the boots yourself. If you can't tell the difference between shitty boots and decent ones in person, you need to step it up. I mean, anyone who sees opening ceremony or bed stu or something like that in person is never wowed by the quality. However, you can usually make due if the styling is what you want and the price isn't bad.

nah it's just that i don't have the opportunity to see them in person. there's no store in NZ.

Oh, when you said you talked to the sales rep i thought you saw them. I mean, it's ok. I mean, there is a reason it's less expensive than say buttero, ndc, fiorentini, etc.... You can't expect to get that for a few hundred less without taking a hit in the materials, construction and overall feel to teh shoes. Probably better off just spending an extra $140 as for $400 you could def find boots you really like. Hell, even for $350 you could probably find some on sale or 2nd hand boots from buttero, ndc, fiorentini, etc... Then again, i'm sure the allsaints boots are fine for many people. Just depends on what you're expecting The boston store just opened on newbury last month. I heard the interior and decoration/display is really cool inside. Might go by one of these days just to dick around and take a look see

haha nah that wasn't me talking about the sales rep. i was just generally interested.

The thing is, you can get pretty decent boots for around $350 retail e.g. Mark Mcnairy/alden/whateverm, but not in the W+H ripoff styles, which is what i want.

In the end all i want is a a pair of boots in that $350 range in terms of quality. doesn't have to be quite in the buttero range.

But yeah, probably much better off looking for some second hand butteros if it were only an extra $100.

What's the model you're interested of?

went into the boston store yesterday...stuff is crap. crappy quality, crappy/inconsistent styling, crappy leather pieces, crappy "aldo" quality boots, crappy salespeople w/ crappy contrived clothing, and all ridiculously overpriced for what you'd be buying. saw a crappy henley for $140. what?

What is up with the pricing.
lol. yea, isn't that shit supposed to be like jcrew prices? i guess they figured since it's coming over from europe to the US for the frist time they could fool customers price wise. I'm guessing there will be a shit ton of stuff hanging around at sales time given with what people are saying the prices are. They raise it from the euro to $$ prices pretty hard it seems. Funny
