Waffle iron, or are they waffle pans when you don't plug them in? I'm sort of a kitchen Luddite - the only electrical kitchen applicance I have is a toaster, and that was a gift. It took forever to find pans to make waffles with that weren't electric - in the end, I bought them from some place that caters to Amish communities.

I've also got one of those mixers you crank, but really, I almost never use it. It's a nice conversation piece, provided you don't mind a conversation that starts "what the f---?" It amazes me how few women cook, seriously cook, nowadays - if I have to explain what a pastry blender is one more time...

Mine is Polish - I have the same problem, but I just figure the way I organize doesn't make sense to her... and somehow my lightbulbs never get changed
