APC? What's that? Perhaps you should start a new thread.

Honestly, the people of this forum have long ago had their souls shattered and improperly mended, so that one of their great hobbies is finding and running off noobs such as yourself who don't grasp this etiquette. Eventually, after participating in enough discussion threads, you can either blow Fuuma or start a thread mocking Conne to gain wider acceptance.

I suggest buying ankle boots instead of shoes, they'll give a better "rocker/indie" vibe. Now I dunno how much you wanna pay so I'll stop now. If you were in Europe I'd direct you to Markowski, Loding or similar (on sale sale) but decent US choices are more limited...

I dunno if you're kidding but skip the APCs and get some slim Uniqlo; cheaper and supposedly quite serviceable.

Advantage? It's about the look, you'll probably fail miserably if you wear shoes while boots might be more workable.

I'm just failing to see how boots would make a big difference. Because i'm not planning on rolling my jeans up or anything, so it's not like you would see above the ankle

Hmm, try imagining yourself going about your day (i.e. moving around) and you'll quickly see that the difference between shoes and boots is very easy to perceive.

Hint: your pants move around and people see if you're wearing shoes or boots...

Yeh i can see what you mean. I have a pair of jeans currently which are a pain because they are a tad short to be worn with shoes. However, i was planning on getting a pair of jeans that have plenty of (is it called piling?) Basically with plenty of length, so the "look that guy is wearing black socks" situation doesn't happen.

ermmm, you've only got 55 posts for a start...

And the difference is, I can learn, therefore growing out of being a noob. However you will always make stupid comments to people just to make yourself feel better. Get a decent hobby mate

First, I really like this quote and now want to find a way to work it into conversation.

Second, is that a Jonas Brother in the pic? If so I am happy for not knowing.

Third, for plaidy-teen, fashion and style is a lot of trial and error. If you're short on cash check Ebay and thrift stores for deals. Or just save up.

When I was first getting out into the workforce I remember buying like 5 shirts from Express or Banana Republic and then hating the shitty quality. Then I realized for that price I could have gotten 2 very nice shirts or 1 excellent shirt.

Anyways, this is a very basic look you're asking about and any mall brand for the jeans and shirt will satisfy it. But don't go cheap on the shoes. Not only will they look bad but they'll probably hurt to wear, too. Find your style and then make it quality over quantity.

Check the clearance area of sites like Saks, Nordstrom, etc. Check the Buy/Sell forum here, too. Seems like every day there are some good deals.

Thanks very much

I want to build a wardrobe with plenty of quality but also enough quantity and variation that i don't end up wearing the same outfit more than twice a week. As my friends are starting to comment on me wearing the same t shirt very often (not exactly the same but i have a t shirt in like 8 different colours. It was cheap, and they are comfy :P)
