Skinny with Long Arms - Page 3

Right! I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.

I am a skinny freak (5'10", 150lb) with long arms (I need 27" shirt sleeves) like the OP. I have given up on OTR shirts and am starting to kick goals with MTM shirts from Modern Tailor and Biased Cut. So far so good and I would highly recommend this approach to other forumites with similar builds. It's more expensive that OTR of course, but worth it.

HOWEVER: that leaves every other garment with long sleeves still a problem, and in particular, jackets. Most any 36R jacket that will fit me in the body is going to have sleeves that are 1.5-2" too short, and that's pushing it in terms of how much fabric there is to let out in the cuffs.

Bespoke would be the answer, but I can't remotely afford that.

My question for anyone with a similar build then: have you found a brand / model in sport coats / suit jackets that is sufficiently slim, and that also has sufficient fabric to let out in the cuffs? I await your kind information.

check out Club Monaco's shirts. Their newer "slim fit" cut is actually pretty slim and the arms tend to run longer than normal. They routinely go on sale for $30-$40 and you can get a 20% student discount on top of that, so its not a huge investment if things don't go well. They take phone orders in case there isn't a store near by (shipping is like $7). Its the only mall brand where I can find a shirt that fits in the body without having to size down to where the arms are too short (5'11, 150)
