I'm still waiting for somebody to manufacture a combo wayfarer-aviator. That would be way too cool. One lens wayfarer, other lens aviator.

By the way. I'm convinced this was an absolutely terrific idea for starting a new thread!

The number of people who don't look like a 24-carat marsupial with Wayfarers on their nose is most probably less than 10...

Neither unless they are vintage. Don't be a walking billboard for an obnoxious company that feels the need to smear its logo-feces all over its product.

I personally think another option entirely is the best, such as horn-rimmed frames.

I like the Persol version of the Wayfarers in tortise. They are a little smaller and less pointed which I think are more elegant. I also have aviators for en entirely different look.

Get them both.

Thinking about getting these, actually. Torn between them and the Tom Ford Bailey.

Well, I watched Top Gun this afternoon and it only reaffirmed by belief that it is by far the greatest movie ever made. So I guess it is no surprise that I vote aviators all the way. Perfect for those days when you've lost that lovin' feeling and you know they will be good to go should you ever find yourself in an inverted 4g negative dive with a MiG 28.

While these are more "Iceman" than "Maverick" and not 100% true to the movie I still love them. I've already got the top pair, but I just saw the bottom pair with the violet mirror lenses and need these in my life ASAP.

If you don't like the logo you can use a coin to scrape it off your aviators. If you have wayfarers, you can use your long, painted nails instead.
