Increasing Water Retention

It's finals time! I've been studying all week/weekend, and as such, have been on and off of wonderful stimulants that happen to work very effectively as diuretics. I've been drinking about 1 liter or water/hour, but I'm peeing frequently enough that I still have cottonmouth, my tongue and mouth are getting the little sores, and my throat is pretty dry. Google is only giving results on how to remove even more water. Any idea how to fix this? Increase salt intake? If so, any general ideas on how much?

Thanks!

I can't wrap my head around why people care so much about school/grades enough to use stimulants to get through them. To each their own I guess.

Just increase salt intake for the time being and make sure to have enough electrolytes.

one liter per hour? seriously that much? then you're taking in way more than you can pee out. in fact thats into water toxicity levels (too much water causing a myriad of problems).

what kind of stimulants? just caffeine? some Ritalin on the side? plain old meth?

gatorade. or if you're really serious, D5W.

Why d5w? Increased urination is a side effect of high blood sugar. For the fun of it though, up it to d50w and try and self inject.

Ah, gotcha. I'm layman in most of this.

I take 60mg of Vyvanse (essentially ritalin, but depression occurs less often, doesn't make me cranky, doesn't make me jittery, and is easier on the body in general, while providing more focus per milligram in my experience) every other day, sometimes 5 Hour Energy drinks (had 2 this week), and drink lots of tea, gatorade, water, V8s, and watever else I have lying around.

I just checked the bottles, and have had about 3.5 liters in the last 4 hours. I also pee every 15 minutes or so, and it's a fairly good stream with no color. I would love to be peeing less often and drinking less water though.

As long as you're careful about it, it's convenient and involves minimal risk.

Yea I know. I had tons of friends do it when I was in school. I just didn't care about grades enough to do it. Recreationally however...

Recreational use of uppers doesn't do it for me. I enjoy life well enough during the times that I'd be using them recreationally that it seems kind of pointless. However, to be able to take something that is normally a miserable experience and making it enjoyable and enlightening is something special.

Desmopressin should work, but you'll probably need a prescription.

Sounds like high blood glucose level to me.

thats the thing... if you're consuming so much fluid then the natural physiologic reaction would be more urination volume to regulate blood volume.

so essentially you're peeing more because you're consuming more. if not then you'd be dealing with issues like high blood pressure and water toxicity.

as for the uppers you're taking and increased urination, and desire to pee less often... its in you're statement: just drink less water/fluids. unless you're parting hard raving and sweating out buckets you won't lose too much fluid because you're already overcompensating with the 1L/hour intake.

i think the worse thing to do would actually to retain water (by increasing levels of salt as an example) at the present high rate of fluid intake (1L/min), because you'll trap in more fluid and predispose yourself into the complications of too much blood volume (high blood pressure, water toxicity, ect).

lets say you pair that with something like an undiscovered blood vessel abnormality in the brain... then the super increase in blood volume and blood pressure(increased intake) + increased water retention (salt consumption) can lead to rupture of vessel malformation and "discovering of undiscovered blood vessel abnormality though an aneurysm"

Then I guess that the real question is how to combat the dry mouth and sores that come with it. I shall bring my fluid intake down to a more reasonable level and start looking for answer.

Thank you.

Dry mouth doesn't solely signify dehydration.
