Two words to help you make it, that you probably won't internalize until it's too late, but here goes: defensive riding. All. The. F'n. Time. Never assume anything, always presume that they can't see you and act accordingly. Save shenanigans for the track or at least on roads where there are -zero- cars (so when you do F up, it's only you). That means, no showboating for the chicks in the other lane.

No, I didn't follow those rules either and I still managed to survive. But I got lucky, too many of my friends didn't.

I'm not looking for anything even remotely as fast as a sport bike. I really want to find an old R/65 and build it up. I'll be using it for commuting and only commuting.
