So I'm trying to upgrade to a smartphone and I think I've found the one I want (HTC Incredible with Verizon). The only problem with it (on paper, I've not held it yet) is that it's not a global phone. It's not a huge issue, but it'd be nice if the phone were global.
So my question is, can I use the phone's wifi capabilities to use Skype to make calls if I'm abroad (I'm live in the US and take holidays in Eurpee occasionally)?
The phone won't pick up a signal in Europe, so I can't roam by accident or anything. But if I can pick up a wifi signal at the hotel, let's say, can I then just use Skype to make calls and avoid dealing with Verizon?
thanks to anyone who knows the answer or can point me in the right direction.
