this year the same. the best team and no excuse for lebron this time because lebron has people like mo and varejao and shaq and carter and jamison helping him.
but after he gone fishing?
now they say he had people like mo and varejao and shaq and carter and jamison helping him. boo hoo

Were people saying he was surrounded by good players now? I admit I didn't watch any NBA games until the Celts/Cavs series. Shaq looked old and tired. And wow, anyone who would say varejao was a good capable player has obviously watched even less NBA than I have.

yes yes a big yes. every day post-all star weekend up to the 1st round of the playoffs critics and journalists were saying cleveland had the best and the most stacked team. ask anyone in the nba thread on this. varajeo played well during the regular season. he disappeared in the playoffs. (as well as everyone else)
if i had a dime everytime i heard "lebron is surrounded by contenders in his team, he has no excuse this year" i would have $2.10.
only in the aftermath did people say in hindsight say the team doesnt measure up and lebron was surrounded by average players.

Americans or Australians faking British accents in period pieces... they way overdo it, and they try to incorporate it with some Americanized vision of sassy British wit. I'm not even British but I can tell it's fake. Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, etc

While someone is drinking water, another person in the room will say something outlandish, causing the person drinking to spew out the liquid.

What's the problem with that? I've done it IRL.

also - whenever the movie wants a character to appear intelligent or sophisticated, they cast him with a British accent. although i suppose our Brit friends don't mind - you guys must get a lot of tail when you cross the pond because of this cliche

HAHA! hilarious! any ancient/regal figures I guess are all cast in the accent.

even worse though is when harvard academics, judges, or any other 'learned' American, who have no reason whatsoever to speak anything but american english, is given a random London accent to sound sophisticated.

Any movie where the plot is based on some misunderstanding that could actually be solved if someone would just pick up a fucking phone and ask the person involved what's going on.
