They call it a “blind brogue”, this is a traditional speciality of London bespoke firms. Some of old Mr Cleverley’s designs were whole cuts, with lots of stitching and brogueing to resemble traditional construction. The idea behind: less bulk and a slicker look.
Love that look. In fact, it kills me when I look at other shoes that don't have the blind brogue as it just doesn't look nearly as good.
