Canada World Youth

I'm thinking about Canada World Youth (like the Peace Corps), since I miss some structure in my life. I'll be 24 when I graduate from law school. I looked into Katimavik when I was younger, but instead went to school.

Other options:
  • practice law
  • join the military (I was a cadet, and turned down admission to Royal Military College)
  • take the foreign service exam
  • try for CSIS (5 year probation, plus I've lived away from Canada for awhile now)
  • go back to working on my small business

I still like the idea of being an attorney, and intend on taking the bar exam, but I'm not so sure I want to start so early. In retrospect, I've been in school all my life, and didn't take time to do exchange programs, etc.

How about CSE? I know someone who went there straight out of his undergrad. Then again, I guess you want to work outside the country?

If you do this hippie shit AFTER LAW SCHOOL say goodbye to ever practicing law. ...But maybe that's right for you?

I wouldn't mind working in Canada. The CSEC seems to be focused on the engineering/computer science type though. While I'm proficient at computers, that sort of programming is probably out of my scope.

I guess it is hippie-like. However, other than not going straight into practice, it can't hurt that bad, can it? How about if I get a job and defer it for half a year/a year?

Have you found somebody willing to do this for you?
