Just a note that a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle can apparently go through a washer and drier and still work. I just did this.

Try hitting it with a 8lb mallet. That's usually how I get them to stop working. Also, if you have one - drill press.

Apple's QC is spotty. My old Powerbook's heat curled at the edges within a month of purchase, and Apple refused to acknowledge that there's a problem. I've also went through 3 defective iPods, in the span of a year, but the final replacement one has lasted to me to date (about 3 years). Tell me, Apple fans, if their products are so great why is it imperative to purchase an extended service plan?

I dropped my iPhone in the bathtub and it still works.

I dropped a 45lb plate on my ipod at the gym and it still works. Six years later...

The same can be said of any electronic device, not to mention a human head... what's your point?

Full disclosure, this is a replacement Shuffle after the first one died. My Nano is still working well but is only used from travel, and previously, during my walk to work. In other news, I found my Etymotic earbuds last night which is great as I'm on a flight tonight.

Listen, Jon. I don't like you - so I'm not going to pull any punches here. You are the one who acts like a self-absorbed, whiny, piece of shit 9/10 times possible on this forum. I will get backup to verify if I need to. Quit taking yourself so fucking seriously and maybe people would like you more and you would be welcomed here instead of merely tolerated.

/end lesson
