Well, you shouldn't be. The measurements being significantly off is no different than if you buy a size 42 suit and get sent a 40 or 44. If you did not get what you bought, a refund seems obvious.

caveat emptor my friend
you don't seem to be at fault

Since there was communication about the measurements upfront - were there no figures mentioned in the pm's? I guess the seller have the original measurements as he said they were off? Having the measurements in the original thread not being there does complicate things...

There's always more to the story than initially reported. Thus edmorel's wise advice to move on...

No, I think I missed this story =). I'm not into badmouthing people and I want to see if I can resolve the issue before bringing it out in public.

-1. Other info such as the jacket may have been altered, the model/style #, etc. all help to determine whether something will fit. Of course buyer's familiarity with what they are buying is more important.

I didn't see that the item could have been altered and just thought that it was a standard issue. I'd have to +1 your -1.

Just a little update on this. I was just searching ebay and found the original jacket I sold here listed for $50 more and the seller listed the shoulder measurements as 18 3/4". In the PMs he sent me he said that the actual shoulder measurements was 17" and that my measurements were off by 1 3/4". In his ebay listing he said the shoulder measurement was 18 3/4". The final conclusion: The guy had buyers remorse and decided he would accuse me of taking bogus measurements to get his money back. If I pushed back he would try to blackmail me by saying he would expose me on SF. When I told him about this tread and said go for it, he backed off, relisted it on ebay to try and turn a profit. What a scumbag.
