Anyone know of extra discounts for SF or something? Even an additional 10% might just push me to make a purchase.

- Loake Kempton (Brown Suede) vs. Herring Gosforth (Cigar Suede); Color seems similar, no? Which one is close to snuff lighter color?

Maybe too late for you but I've read at least one review saying the Herring Gosforth's cigar (which I have) is a little darker than the Kempton in "brown." But I've never seen the Kempton version IRL The cigar is darkish, though, darker than most "snuff" suede a I've seen IRL.

Regarding size, I went down 1 size from AE 65, rather than 1.5 sizes as some do. But, I have an high instep.

If you head over to Ask Andy, you can find two different Herring codes.
One will get you 10% off and the other will get you free shoe trees.
You can only use one code per purchase.

Thanks. I found both but unfortunately they don't work with sale items.

For those that have purchased AS for Herring in addition to their 1966 lasted trees, how do they fit? I've had a few AS lasted trees and although they fill the toe portion excellently, they don't fill the vamp well. I'm curious to hear from others if they have the same experience.

I've ordered a pair yesterday that I'd hope to receive next week. I'll report back but might be too late for you.

I'd appreciate it. The information would be great for future reference. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I have 1966 lasted trees and I can confirm that they do not fill shoes perfectly.

Hi all,

I bought these herring moleskin jeans this past week.and they arrived the other day.

However, since getting them I've found them to be somewhat tight and restrictive in the thighs and knee area. Even though they fit me in the waist well.

I was wondering if anyone else has had these  issues with Herring's clothing items like pants? If so I was wondering would it be possible to let them out a little in the areas I am having trouble with? Or am I better off just returning or exchanging them?

Really like the toe broguing on these. Great color, too. Good pickup.

So Herring started carring AS shoes at a lower price point. This makes sense as the higher "1966" has oak bark channeled soles while the lower price have exposed stitching and standard soles. My curiosity is the quality of the uppers. Anyone know if the uppers of the cheaper AS are comparable to the 1966 line? I recently purchased a pair of AS, made for Bowen (France) with sole construction like the latter and the leather quality was noticeably poorer.

Thoughts?
