True, putting this movie on was the true test of when it was time to get to the business.

Quoted for truth, but in fairness, at least Jenna, Janine, Carmella, etc., had a fair amount of raw material they were working with prior to going surgery-crazy. They were conventionally attractive to begin with. I'm not convinced Jesse Jane has ever been attractive. Even in her earliest days, she looked like an ugly chick cut up to all hell and back to resemble her mind's-eye's image of a Appreciation star ideal.
Heck, even Wifey (of Wifeysworld) is starting to look more plastic by the year: I'd rather see a few lines around the eyes than her perpetual surprised look.
I've never been much of a Wifey fan myself, but as they say, different strokes for different folks. Literally, in this case.
That said, as long as Nina keeps working, I'll have something to be cheerful about.
Hell ******* yes. Perfect example of someone who has aged gracefully in an ungraceful business. Stephanie Swift was on track to do the same thing, until she suddenly and frightfully jumped on board the surgery bandwagon a few years back. One of the biggest tragedies I've ever seen in my years as a Appreciation aficionado. It always sucks to see a once-naturally*-hot Appreciation starlet start growing scarier and scarier with more and more surgery. But I can at least understand why they think it's a good idea. It's like the movie Showgirls. There's always gonna be some hot young things coming into the game and stealin' your swagger. You get paranoid and insecure about your aging, and you try to cheat Father Time with the scalpel. But he always wins, and the joke ends up on you. *More or less natural, that is, except for the usually de riguer fake tatas.

Yeah, Jesse Jane is definitely not one of my favorites. Way too fake looking. I'd have to say Kirsten Price is my favorite right now. I used to love Teagan Presley before she got all tattooed out.

BTW, for those not keeping score, this thread has been hijacked (in keeping with the Pirate theme) and is now the Official Pr0n Discussion Thread.

I hate to say this, but I've been watching more amateur/homebrew Appreciation than mainstream. Haven't dl'd much lately, either.

I hear ya, man. There's really something to be said for the true amateur ****. Plus, I also think the overall care and attention put into mainstream Appreciation has really taken a nosedive in recent years. In some instances (Pirates, for example), production budgets have gone up. But the creativity that used to go into staging the scenes and the dialogue has really gone to ****. Gonzo has been a little too influential, in my humble opinion, and it's taken a lot of the art out of today's mainstream Appreciation.

All that said, the internet is really blurring the distinction between pro and amateur these days. A lot of the really interesting **** I'm into these days is being put out by websites that are "professional" only inasmuch as they are for-profit businesses with actresses and not honest-to-goodness amateurs. I'm also seeing a lot of so-called "amateurs" making the leap to recurring internet Appreciation professionalism these days. Just look at Amy Reid, for example. That chick went pro quicker than her rack makes my pen0r rise.

Yeah, gonzo has really put things sideways in allowing women such as Bridget Kerkove to gain a foothold, just because of what she'll do. Katja Kassin as well, considering how she used to look.

Private Media Group, last I checked, still put on a good production and didn't get too crazy. Although, that was a few years back, and I cannot vouch for the dialog (who watches for THAT these days, anyway? - that's like watching MTV for the videos!). After that, it's back to the 'amateurs' for me - although if you run your own website you really ought not be called an amateur. Some of them are quite slick.

Private is the group (through its Pirate sub-label) that catapulted Bridget and Katja to fame in the first place, though, isn't it? And FWIW, Katja was hot back in her prime. Then she slipped and hit every branch on the fat skank tree on her fall.

Hmmm, I didn't know that. I wouldn't have thought Bridget was up to their standards, though I guess one can slip by here and there. Now that I think of it, I can't recall any Private/Pirate girls that went on to U.S. mainstream or internet, although I never jumped into their work all that deeply.

I do recall a quite hot young Katja, back in the day. I saw something more recent of hers, and wept for what she'd become.

Freeones is the best at-a-glance resource for retrospectives. You can find collated links to all of, say, Katja's internet-published work. Sadly, it's not organized chronologically. It really should be.

Private is Pirate's dirtier little cousin brand. Their standards are slightly lower, and the subject matter is slightly rougher and dirtier. Often it's actually quite good. But lately it's been hit or miss. I'm 80-90% sure that Pirate is the label that brought the world Bridget Kerkove, Katja Kassin, and even Sylvia Saint.

Now, Silvia Saint I do recall. I recall Suze Randall getting to her, whether around the time of Private/Pirate, I can't say. Suze, I think, would have been, hmmm '99-2000?

Timeline sounds about right, but that would be a back-of-the-napkin estimate on my part.
