Fragrances for the young and restless

I've been lurking in these forums for quite some time and I haven't had a chance to put in a post... didn't really know what to say, but recently, I've been hunting for a new fragrance to use, and I hope to get some good insight for decants to try...

I'm a 26 year old engineer and I often work inside a lab wearing lab coats... one of my recent pet peeves is working with someone in the lab who reeks of BO. These lab coats tend to trap odors very well. In any case, I typically use the following fragrances in heavy rotation, but I'm urking to expand: Bvlgari Pour Homme, Chanel Platinum Égoïste, and Hermès Terre d'Hermès. I also bought a Bvlgari sampler that had the Bvlgari Blv, Aqva, Aqva Marine, Pour Homme Extrême and I use those from time to time, and I also have a Calvin Klein CK one summer for hot California weather.

I don't really pose a budget limit. If I like it, I'll buy it. Any recommendations?

Explore the niche world if you want to expand - Creed, Le Labo, Serge Lutens, Gendarme, Tauer, etc. Samples http://www.luckyscent.com http://www.theperfumedcourt.com Some good and pretty safe mainstreams to consider: YSL Rive Gauche YSL Live Jazz Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Acqua Di Parma Colognia Creed Green Irish Tweed Are you in LA ? Niche Colognes in WEHO/Hollywood/Mid City Apothia at Fred Segal Melrose. 8118 Melrose Avenue - A few Creeds, L'Artisan, C&S Santa Maria Novella 8411 Melrose Place near La Cienega - Amazing classic Italian scents. The Scent Bar 8327 Beverly Blvd near the Bev Ctr - Bring a lot of $ because you'll want to buy everything. This is prolly the best niche spot in the US selection-wise. Le Labo 3rd St and Orlando near the Bev Ctr - Some amazing (and expensive) scents. Gendarmerie 9069 Nemo St Behind the Troubador - The entire Gendarme line of fragrances and a great spa.

These are great advices! Thank you.

Yes, I live in Pasadena, but thankfully(?) the Beverly Center isn't too far away. I'm afraid I'll spend too much like you say.

You might consider dabling a bit on Basenotes.net's forums... just watch you don't tumble too far down the rabbit hole. as examples... LA Fresno the general advice is sample a lot, then buy what you love. things to consider that will help narrow down the focus: age appropriate (something that makes you seem older, younger? you'll wear for 10 years?) price range ($50, <$100, $200+, $300+?) day/night, summer/winter, casual/formal (ie do you want a special occasion one or all rounder?)

No problemo - they're all just a short hop from your location. Check out the Gendarmerie when you have an extra half hour of free time. The owner and inventor of Gendarme (Topper) is a cool guy and will talk your ear off about colognes and give you a handful of samples. Le Labo is very laid back and zero pressure.
