One Room Air Conditioner Question

Need a recommendation for a one room a/c unit for a room in a second home. We cannot do window units, need one of those one box units...

Anyone have any experience and know of a quality brand/specific product to look for?

Room is 400 sq. ft. (20 x 20) if that helps, no big ceiling or anything unusual, thanks.

I don't have one myself, but a friend has Mitsubishi that seems to work pretty well.

Is this for a barn or outdoor'ish area?

I'm buying one too, but for a window. The biggest thing i'm concerned about is getting a noisy unit. You probably want something a little over 8000btu for that area.

I use a Fujitsu unit that sits in the corner of the room against the ceiling, it's super quiet and doesn't require a window. Works great, too.

Random question... Do A/C units tend to dehumidify also?

Yes, in fact it's not a matter or "tend" the physics of the thing demand it.

^Yes.
See also Sanyo.
These are great options for installations where ductwork is impossible or cost-prohibitive.
