Db_ggmm is correct. They have different methods for using it, and one used to be a nasal spray. There were a bunch of lawsuits over people losing their sense of smell, which led to them eventually pulling the spray. The lozenges and such are still avilable.

I never liked any type of lozenges since zinc leaves a hard to clean taste in your mouth. Just take zinc supplements and be done with it.

The Zinc lozenges... then advil and/or sudafed as needed to keep the pain and sinuses cleared up. Sleep a lot and drink a lot of water...

Thanks to blackjack for the tea recipe.

I made out with a stripper last weekend (much to my surprise) - and caught a f-in cold because of it.

So, I obtained ingredients (raw honey is very good, but expensive) and made the tea.

It soothes the throat and acts as a decongestant. It feels good to drink. I don't know if it aids in recovery, but it lessens the symptoms for awhile. I'd rather drink this tea than take psuedaphed. (sp?) That stuff dries you out.

why?

I recall reading something on pesticide toxicity in carrots like Linuron and PPE and it kind of freaked me out. I would assume similar conditions for a tuber like ginger...
