Drove across country with my girlfriend. Worked at a community center in a rough part of town for the summer. Flew back to be w/ my girlfriend during her Sr. year of college and taught jr. high at one of the roughest neighborhoods in the country. Ask yourself what you would do if you could do anything for a year. Then work your butt off to realize that vision by sending out apps, asking for help from mentors and friends, praying. Let money be a concern, but your last concern.

I had a job waiting for me in another state, so I moved up there to work a few months after graduation. Made a mistake I'll never make again, paying too much for rent, didn't save a penny; but I also learned that it wasn't a job I wanted to have. I used other work experience from college to get into education fast forward to now will be moving to my ocean-side apartment in August and begining my job as a university lecturer.

Got a job in banking and wanted to fucking kill myself. quit that job cause it was sucking my soul away. That was 2 week ago. Taking a step back with a more relaxed job starting next week as I decide what I should do in this shit economy.

how novel As for me, I was working in menswear at a department store while I was a student, and found myself stranded there longer than I would have liked post graduation day. I graduated into the tail end of 'the recession we had to have' in Australia - very few jobs around at the time. I got a job with a start-up dot-com style venture developer which promptly went under, then moved from the hometown to Melbourne when I was hired by a PR firm there....and then my career was away.

Spent the summer studying for the CPA exam then went to work for a big five firm (the one that went under) in the fall. Really regret not having more fun that last summer of freedom. What an idiot!
