Unfortunately the 6.3 Mercs are the same thing around power delivery. What use is the power when you can't transition it? Its all for numbers.
the ZO6 weighs about as much as a Ferrari F430. it's 150-200 lbs heavier than a GT3, but has better power-to-weight ratio than both of those cars.i didn't drive the C6 on the track but i don't think it will be any trouble putting the power down. if anything, it's the shit automatic transmission that made the power delivery uneven for me, particularly on kickdowns. i'd definitely go manual on this car.

Are you referring to the 6.2 NA or the 5.5TT engine? I find the 6.2 NA has quite linear and usable power for merging. Of course, you have to be on the track to use the entire power range.

I think some people try to make comparisons such that they will get the result they are looking for. When it comes to Big 3 muscle there is a certain paradigm and when it comes to Euro-sport driving there is a different one. I know you are aware of this and am pointing it out for others. It's fine to prefer one over the other but it's stupid to try and put a square peg in a round hole and then declare one objectively superior. I think that is often what goes with some people here. Everything that does not fit their personal niche is disparaged as are those that drive them. It's sad really.

The C63. Top gear test drive I saw was nothing but wheel-spin. Sure, for merging, but in many other circumstances its useless power.

Watches entertainment-oriented automotive show where burning rubber is the name of the game.

Calls the car's power useless.

Got it.

Does drifting the corkscrew at Laguna Seca count?

The Vette is not a muscle car. The Vette is a sports car. Different paradigm altogether.

A muscle car couldn't have set the record for a production vehicle at Laguna Seca. That's sports car territory.

Yeah, but how does it do in the snow?

Any BRZ/FR-S owners here?

This stuff is so juvenile. Its the equivalent of when basketball had the AND1 craze.

Of course Michelin loves it but I wish we could go back to the days when actually putting a car thru a corner quickly is appreciated.

Can you please differentiate the 2 for us? Because if your answer is what I think it is, then the C63 is a muscle car which is sorta weird but kinda true the more I think about it.

Poorsod, you know that drifting and wheel spin are the same thing?

That's what we do now and it's just such a pain with carseats and everything. Most rentals are meh as well..

I didnt even know this beast existed-- it's definitely in the mix.

Would rather have a CPO W212 E63T over the CTS-V, but good luck finding one, and the ones with 7-passenger seating are even harder to find. I think I heard they sold something like 60 of them per model year in the USA. On the bright side, if it's just a weekend car, you might not end up putting mileage on it and it'll hold value relatively well for a new-age MB due to the rarity. They trade for a good premium above the sedan and there are people who always looking for one.

I actually called a dealer today and apparently they are special order only. Might be tough to find a used model with somethings so rare too...

Any wrx owners in the thread? I know it's not the superwagon others are recommending, but the 6-speed is a huge plus for me as is the AWD living in NY.
