Yeah, not quite sure why I didn't just put it on the ground. Even as I was placing it on top of my car, in my head, I was thinking, "should I really be doing this?" but went ahead anyway, lol.

Lesson learned!

I asked what the residual and money factor was and what the MSRP and cap cost was. He asked me why I wanted all those numbers so I told him so I could work the lease and see how the actual numbers fall out. He told me leasing formulas are pretty complicated, and if I came by the dealership, he could print up the lease contract which would show all that. I told him Infiniti must have a different contract from everyone else as I've never seen a lease contract that goes through the formula. It just kicks out a few total costs, like the total cost to finance, and does not go through the formula. I said to just shoot me the numbers. He said he could not explain the leasing formula in email as it's very complicated. I told him I was not asking him to explain it just provide the numbers and that I found nothing complicated about:

(cap cost - residual) / 36

and

(cap cost + residual) x money factor

He had the balls to say this formula was incorrect but would not correct it. I told him to print my email and go talk with the leasing manager. That was Wednesday. Yesterday he emailed me to say it had been "a long time" since he'd done a lease by hand and that I was indeed correct.

If the choice is the FX he's in a world of hurt when I start to really negotiate.

You are a car salesman's worst nightmare.

I can beat that.

My old audi didn't have a cup holder, so used to place 0,5l plastic bottle in the passenger footwell, where they just rolled around. rolleyes.gif

One day I was stuck in traffic on a hot day, not thinking about that I had driven a bit hard earlier, I decided to open the bottle, which resulted in coke spray on to me, the seats, dash, wheel, windscreen, side window and wing mirror, always nice to be covered in coke in a warm car.

Your real mistake here was thinking that warm coke would quench your thirst!!

Oh noes!

In your M3?

Poor leather.. I'm about to go clean my car's steering wheel with dat zaino cleaner.

Also, semi-unrelated note, I lol'd today when my car's low gas warning came on.

It came on when I hit a quarter-tank.

Do all gas guzzlers do that?

BTW, I'm definitely going to need to get a radar detector.

This car is going to get me in trouble because it accelerates so quickly.

In the meantime, cruise control is your friend.

being able to get this license plate is the best thing about driving in Texas:

Greenfrog, what does your vanity plate say? GRNFRG? or M5DBAG? happy.gif

Agreed. I use mine almost constantly or I'll quickly find myself doing 70 in a 40.

Yup. I drive almost exclusively with cruise control on when I'm on the highway.

While city driving.. however... devil.gif.

That's the license plate I got!!

Mine is very tame and looks almost like a regular state-issued number wink.gif.

If you promised to do it, I would seriously consider it (0)!

I just ordered a replacement housing and mirror for a really good price. If you're in the US, PM me for information on the parts place I used.

People. Suck. Sorry to hear.

Awesome. I would totally have parked next to you, too. Thank you for parking like a normal person and in a normal space, not crosswise across three spaces like I saw this idiot in a Cayman R do the other day.

Do you not have privacy concerns with giving out  a good chunk of your birthdate publicly, everywhere you go?

Gold wheels, esp BBS, are incredibly ricey to me, but then again I am really in the minority/uninformed opinion on these things here.

yeah, I hate people who do that too. It's an incredibly douchey, self-important gesture to make. Although, I am going to try to find secluded spots from now on. Huntsman, what car do you drive again? I'm sure I would park next to yours as well :P I believe you have an M coupe?

As for the privacy concerns, none at all, actually. I mean, to any random stranger, it's just a number. Minus the hyphen that I have between my initials and birthdate, it looks like a regular plate number.

And yes, forgoing the BBS!

I think these M6 wheels look pretty sharp:

I think those M6 wheels are the shitness on that M5. Just saying. The absolute shitness.

Yes, I drive an M Coupe some days:

...and I really, really, really want to put M6 reps on it.

Your car is absolutely stunning. That is the best 911 in quite some time. Great wheel choice also.

I can't imagine putting a cup of anything on a painted roof. My father yelled at me some years ago for putting a plastic cup on his roof; I was like, it's on the glass of the sunroof? That won't do anything! But it is his car and I respect that and have not done so again.

Wait, wait, Red Bull is carbonated? I've never actually seen any, but I thought it was still.

V1 FTMFW. Love mine, and I am really conservative on the top end. But I never want to be passing someone or to otherwise be unawares and get nailed.

I really like my vanity plate, damnit, and I am going to continue to like it. I would subject it to forum scrutiny but the disclosure feels weird.

Interlagos Blue! Love it!

As for radar detectors, I'm reading phenomenal reviews of the Escort 9500ix. I'm very close to buying it.

Anyone have any experience with it?
i'm gonna see if BMWBJ is available in FL happy.gif

i have the Escort 9500ix. this thing is like Skynet. saves my ass once every 2-3 weeks (this is absolutely not an exaggeration), including this afternoon on Alligator Alley. there's an slightly elevated bridge and the cop was past the bridge, off the swale and hidden in the trees...and flicking his radar gun on and off in very short bursts at the lead cars in clumps of traffic.

the Escort warned me on my approach to the bridge, no sweat. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
