Also, consider your description above of a Range Rover and my correction of your description. It might well be a disconnect in what one views as desirable in a vehicle and how one would rather project themselves, i.e. understated vs. well, something else.

I actually like the front a bit but beyond that it appears quite terrible.

Aside from the head and taillights resembling those of the new Ford SUV I really like the direction Range Rover has gone. I think I want one.

When I was at the dealership several weeks ago they had some new "black out" version of the Rangie. Could not decide if I liked it or not. Even the wheels were black.

"murdered out" cars look like shit 100% of the time, in the few instances it looks okay the car would look better stock.

And since when was the Range Rover the beacon of good taste? WTF. Not saying that it's a tasteless car, but to say that you have good taste in cars because you like Range Rovers is quite frankly, retahded, in my opinion.





Ford with their Aston-esque grills has forever ruined Astons for me. I will say, though, it's very sleek.

Irrational? The E46 ZHP is arguably one of the best driver's cars in the past decade. I don't think I will ever sell it, the more and more I come to realize how amazingly it handles and timeless it looks. In fact, I'm getting excited just thinking about getting home this weekend and being able to drive it (0). Even HRoi has kept his E46. It just feels fucking good to drive.

I'll say this: I actually like the look of the Evoque -- at first I didn't, but after seeing them in the wild several times, they're pretty striking and good looking. The Evoque coupe, however, is retarded, both in concept and design.

But the regular ranges are just bleh to me. They look like rectangles on wheels. I like SUVs to be curvy and sleek, not boxy -- I loooove the way the rear of the X6 looks, for example.

So you used to sell Jeeps, what, like 5-10 years ago? Jeeps of the past =/= present Jeeps.

The new Ranger Rovers look awesome, but what happened to Range Rovers is essentially what happened to The North Face (at the actual expedition/skiing level) jackets.

Both are still engineered to handle extreme elements/terrain but when rappers started using them as status symbols their essence was lost in translation.

Todays parking spaces are getting more and more compact.

Many times parking is too tight and reversing out of a tight spot was hell.

an Aston wagon, range rovers that start to get curvy lines, and greenfrog trying to be an arbiter of good taste...

In all seriousness, to me the range rover is very much out of place in an urban environment. Take it out to 'greener' places, and it comes into its own, and can become tasteful.

And just to , any bmw older than 3-4 years will be regarded as an immigrants ride, or 'turkenbak' (turkish clunker if you will) in the Netherlands. Nobody will ever acknowledge them as being good taste, although the handling capabilities will be.

The disco looks better in all black, as it covers up the ugly.

To GFs defense, I do like the exterior of the Grand Cherokee, they've gotten better and better looking in the past few years, but I doubt the fit & finish is near par with the RR.

Wow, drinking a lot of the internet forum kool-aid, eh? I had a 2006 330CI ZHP coupe. Hated it and quickly sold it. Was not fun to drive at all. M3 is significantly better in every way. Don't waste your time on the compromise car.

ZHP resale values are artificially high since people write bullshit like the your post all the time about the car. I bought the car largely based on the consensus I found from the forums and it was an important lesson for me; never trust internet consensus.
