Unless you have tactile experience with Audi's AWD, I can't change your mind. I've owned 3 AWD Audi's (currently own 2) and can tell you without a doubt they are a marvel in wet weather and the snow. You can post all the tire rack vids you want but until you experience this system in bad weather you're clueless. I'm telling you that with regular tires it would smoke a RWD BMW on winter tires without a glance.

I do agree winter tires improve the performance of any car. But winter tires on an AWD Quattro would make a laughingstock of most anything else. Just watch those snow vids above. I can report the same experiences.

Tell us more. It seems BMW can do no wrong in your eyes. Go on....

Quick question for you experts, why on earth would you compare a car with winter tires against one in summer tires, in the middle of the snow?

Skoda, Seat and VW all have/had WRC teams, so the tech is still in there.

Citroen got kicked of the Dakar back in the 90's for the same reasons.

This chatter is making me nauseous. Seriously, does anybody care who can smoke who in winter driving conditions? Buy a fucking car because you like it. What is so complicated about that. Also, that is kind of the point of this thread. Can we get someone with thread editing rights to clear all this shit out of here and stick to posting pictures of the cars we drive?

So in the interests of being a positive contributor, I'll make a recommendation. Why doesn't someone start a "My Car Can Beat Your Car" threak and we can move the discussions over there? Seriously, this thread has really lost it's way and it'd be good to try to get it back to being a place where people post pictures of their automobiles.

Seems to me like there's about 15-20 posters on that thread, so probably most of them posted pictures of their cars already.

On my side, I have been looking at BMW 525i E34 (M50 engine) with less than 200k km on it for about a month now, and I think I will pick up one rather soon. It'll be my autobahn cruiser for a while.
