Cars We Drive! - Page 560

The performance should be utilized on a track, road course, autocross course, or some other high performance driving event.

Dunno about the muscle car criteria. Steering with your right foot is a characteristic of any well balanced car and a basic skill required for performance driving. Unless you are talking about steering as in going in a straight line faster and not manipulating under and oversteer...

For balance, here's an MB wiping out at speed:

I don't really see the difference in level of maturity in egregiously speeding vs. flooring it off a stop light. Both have their thrill, both have their danger (to self and others) but both can be more or less unsafe based on several factors. Just my guess, but I think someone losing control at 100+ mph is much more likely to seriously hurt/kill himself or others than someone flooring their car and then laying off at 60 or so (this is given good, empty road with line of sight). I'm not going to call anyone names for speeding when they're on an unpopulated road and can't see why people would call folks that goose their car at an empty stop light names...but each to his own.

There is no difference. They're both idiotic. Take it to the track.

Sorry Piob, not taking the bait. I don't get in arguments over the internet.

Yeah, heaven forbid you'd take sides on an issue or call people names...or have it demonstrated you're being hypocritical... wink.gif

Sooooo, might as well post up an actual Car We Drive! Audi TT: completely built, 10:1CR, 9000RPM, PTE 6262, ~750HP on pump+meth. No need for comments on what I do with it - I drive it 100% legally, 100% of the time nod[1].gif

You're never too old to enjoy your car.

Anyone ever driven Lotus Evora? Thoughts? Any feelings on whether these things will depreciate like the Exige / Elise?
It's a good car for street racing at 5:30 am

Is it weird that the BMW 635CSi I find more attractive with a bit of lowering? It is something I am usually completely against, but the Stanceworks 635 just looks pretty cool

I admit, that in four months in Washington D.C., having seen more than a hundred M3's in the first month, I was less impressed; but anathema is hard to stomache.

Wow. I must apologise, I've never looked up that word before. I have only ever heard it (colloquially, I must now assume) as meaning "something beyond understanding" or "incomprehensible".

Pleas forgive me, I wouldn't buy an M car but I certainly wouldn't like in to a religious slaughter.

Surely, I'm may be a pedant, but I'm not a vindictive one.

Oops.  Last of of bug eyes.  Dunno why I typed air cooled

The 964 was a bug eye wasn't it? Speaking of 964s, this feature on the Singer 911 is like car pr0n made for SF with its focus on the OCD production of the car (along with countless uses of the word "bespoke"):
