It's a down payment on a DB9, so I have to take some care with it. Anyway, my father's Grand Am has 270k+ miles on it, no problems, so I will run this one until it dies. I'd probably have to put Blizzak's on it to take it out in this crap anyway.

A genuine anathema, as if anathema was not strong enough; one of the worst words in the language, and a poor choice. What do you use for really horrible things?

I admit, that in four months in Washington D.C., having seen more than a hundred M3's in the first month, I was less impressed; but anathema is hard to stomache.

regarding that particular color, i had contrast color black/coral red in my 135i and wanted to go with a similar shade in my M3. fox red looks quite a bit more orange than coral red, though. nothing wrong with it, and cheers if gnatty likes it, but that wasn't my cup of tea, so i went with boring all black

Somehow I missed that you had a 1-series.

I think that I have a particular love for contrast. I want a black suit with red stitching. When I was researching M Coupes, I found this spreadsheet someone had downloaded (I assume they made a ascript to ping BMW's website) that got the info on every M Coupe ever sold, which was only 2200 or so IIRC. By far, triple black was the most common; after that silver over double black, then Interlagos over double black; contrast interiors were so rare. I don't know; I love them. For a while I thought I'd buy a Jaguar XKR Portfolio edition that is blue over black inside. If they did it in the XKR coupe and not only the convertible I probably would have. I have black over a sort of taupe in my M -- not the best combo, certainly, but they do not offer enough colors.

Wow. I must apologise, I've never looked up that word before. I have only ever heard it (colloquially, I must now assume) as meaning "something beyond understanding" or "incomprehensible".

Pleas forgive me, I wouldn't buy an M car but I certainly wouldn't like in to a religious slaughter.

Not a chance.

Would love the 2013 AMG version though. Never going to happen either.

I have to say, even though it's around 120k, it might be worth it just to see the M3 owners start crying when their doors get blown off at a stop light.

(the M3 is faster to 60)

you can also now tune the ecu on the 2013 450 adding a decent amount of HP. That would be great. Just the look of... huh, did that GL really do that?

Well, the latest generation yes, but not the prior ones and even this generation has one that does 4.7 and then one with a tranny mod that does under 4. Also, unless he gets a look at the badge, the M3 guy is not expecting this. Additionally, in real world conditions, that 4matic is going to come into play. I have a friend with last generation M3 and have blown him off the line a couple of times when the pavement conditions were less than perfect (once when some sand was on the road and once when it had just finished raining).

Amazing what happens on the road at 5:30 am.

You can get 700hp out of a the new 5.5 bi turbos with a remap and an exhaust, German Wheels and More want 12 or 16000€ for the upgrade and then it's really fast.

Edit from their website (for some reason it's 2k€ cheaper on the English website, than the German)
