Having driven a few thousand kms on the autobahn with normal cars (the kind that don't really go over 220kmh), you usually don't have the chance to drive this fast so often anyway. You don't really see very quick cars this often either, to my surprise.
All in all, it works rather well, people driving at regular speeds are used to look in the back mirror often, people driving fast are used to braking early and not taking too much risks (although you might think differentyl if you only watch maxspeed runs on youtube).
In this case, good thing no one died.
If I had M3 money (buying + servicing), I think I would try to get a TVR Sagaris (being fully aware of how much pain it might bring me) and lease a BMW F11 530d.
