I've never looked into to, but what does it cost to rent a supercar like that?

Based on Scent of a Woman about 2k for an hour.

The Aston was about 3k sterling for five days and 600 miles. Renting an Aventador in LA for a day costs $6,000 from one site I saw it on.

I think you can rent a Ferrari for about $2K a day, but the mileage allowance isn't great. I lucked into driving a rental 2012 650i cab in LA for like $135 a day with ok mileage allowances, I drove all day and didn't go over in the end. It was the insurance plus the shitty gas mileage that doubled that rate. I'd consider renting a Ferrari at the Nurburgring as I've seen a good rate on them and it might be fun to just rope it around the backroads for a day.

A F430 here is about $995 a day for 100 miles, plus $1.95/mile for each mile over 100 and up to 200.

A 458 is like $2150 a day for the 100 miles.

That's a lot of cheese to walk away and be left feeling like a small timer again.

Yeah, I would be tempted up to $500 but anymore and it does seem extravagant.

lol id rather rent the 458 for $215 for 10 miles and pay the rest per mile

I'd do it for $500. The 430 is a total blast to drive

I was under the impression that if you have decent car insurance then generally you are covered when you rent a car and you don't need additional coverage. Can anyone weigh in here? I always waive insurance but I have decent coverage, a big umbrella, and AAA to boot. I've never actually reviewed my policy, tho.

Yes your car insurance should extend to a rental. I'd just make sure your limits cover a vehicle of this price.

some of us don't have car insurance.

Savages.

If you are going to count on your car insurance know if there are any exclusions though. Also, ditto with AMEX as I'm pretty sure it explicitly excludes things like high sports cars and I'm pretty sure SUVs on a categorical basis. Sometimes just get the most piece of mind from buying insurance you know will cover things.
