Cars We Drive! - Page 506

The 4er looks fantastic, those rear flanks look delicious. The C-pillar has an unusually raked taper (and the most petite Hofmeister kink on a BMW yet) and the slight ducktail lid are beautiful. Those chubby rear flares have a real 6-series feel to them. I'm not hot on the front or rear fascias on that concept, here's hoping that the production choices offer something a bit cleaner and elegant. The BMW concepts usually come out 1 for 1, though, so we're looking at a 435i here.

This and the 6er GC are some of the best looking new BMW's in a long, long time.

They could've easily just called this the F31 3-series coupe and nobody would've cared any more or less.

i care that they changed it - why do companies keep trying to fix things that aren't broken?? the 3-series is an iconic brand....i don't know what the hell a 4-series is. it gets worse when they release the M models - - the M3 is the most storied sports saloon in history. the M4 is an automatic carbine.

Front looks pretty terrible and what's with the panamera vent? Retarded.

Cayman S.

Love the Cayman S.

4 Series looks fantastic...
Sucks for my friend who just picked up a 335i coupe.
Oops!

The original Panamera was awful looking. The very latest turbo version actually looks pretty good considering where it started.

looks good from this angle but in the profile the sloped back is just too long, really hope they go through with the sport turismo concept

I own a Porsche and I hate Panameras. They are hideous. It looks like they just lowered a Cayenne as far as possible.

4 series face is pig disgusting.

I think the 4 series looks fantastic, overall. The one gripe I have about it is with the lower air vents. Reminds me of this:

But I'm sure the different trims will offer other looks.

I'm glad they're back with the orange background lighting for the dash. Also, is that fucking SUEDE trim on the A-pillar!?

^^^I love that interior. Alcantara headliner, probably, and leather on the dash, but my guess is that it's the Individual option. Looks good.

facepalm.gif Of course it'd be alcantara; can't believe I missed that and thought it'd be suede. Whoops, lol.

But yes, the interior while gorgeous, is the individual option. I bet the car in the pics is spec'd out to ~$55K with a base engine..

I'm interested to see where they go with this 4-series naming convention. The car is significantly different and more luxurious than the 3-series sedan (looks-wise) so this is really a huge shift for them. Not looking forward to the M4 name, though. Just doesn't sound right.

I really wish I could just build a BMW garage with an E30 M3 (5-spd), an E46 M3 (6-spd), an E92 M3 (DCT), an E60 M5 (6-spd), and an F12 M6 (DCT) smile.gif

Leather dash is a 1450€ option in Germany on the F12, so I can't imagine it will be more expensive on the 4.

Apparently there's a 4 GC and a 2 GC on the way as well.

The 4 looks gorgeous inside and out.
