Saw an Aston Martin Rapide outside of the Four Seasons Chicago this weekend. Very nice looking 4 door. Much better looking than an A7 or Panamera. I was pretty impressed.
I know they look the same but an A7 is £50,000 with a few extras loaded and the Aston is £139,000 without toys. For £70,000 extra I would hope for a significant difference!
They look the same in the same way I look like George Clooney. I nearly bought an A7 but for the pigheaded staff at the Audi dealer and it is really just an A6 with a sloping back. The Aston is a stunner but I do not have the sort of money needed to buy one without regretting the cost so ended up with a 7 series BMW.
that is called inevitable. Really, a huge amount of cars look like that.
That's not the worst part about owning a car in New York. This weekend a friend's car was towed and it took her a while to figure out if it was towed or stolen. Apparently, she was left stranded in a desolate part of Brooklyn and it took a while to find a cab to take her back to Manhattan. Also, the pound in Brooklyn is closed on Sunday and she has to get the car today.
I went to a place called "Classic Remise" in Berlin, and by seeing the website I was expecting to see a couple of classics and spend 5 minutes there, but then I went there and saw one of the nicest collection of cars I've seen recently.
It's funny because I have seen 3 Ferrari FF in Berlin so far, and 2 of them were at the garage being serviced or upgraded, the third one had Italian plates.
I see Rapides in Tokyo as often as I would ever see them, I guess, and they are the best looking 4-door car out there.... but for the price paid I think you'd start regretting that you had to drive an Aston with 4 doors rather than 2 anyway. Seems a shame.
