Alright need a bit of help. Trying to decide between two different 3 series. Both have very similar options and are black. Both under 100k miles and appear to be in very good shape. Which should I go with?

04 325i: 5 speed, tan interior, 38k fewer miles, $1k more.

02 33oci: auto, Premium package, black interior, 38k more miles, $1k less.

Is the car for you or the wife?

I would go with the 04, because its newer and manual.

Car is for me.

I'd pick the 5-speed. Any way you can widen your options instead of narrowing them down to those two choices?

am I the only one that thinks this looks ugly?

Don't really want to. Just would like something that drives well, will last for awhile, and has some creature comforts.

I'm still a few years off from buying fun toys so I just need something basic right now. I'll have plenty of time later to buy a new M5 and have fun.

as somebody who took the gmat recently, this post was "less vs. fewer" overload. Id prob take the 325 personally. But id wish for the 330 engine.

You gotta get the 330ci mang. There is a world of difference between the 2.5 and 3.0

How much are you willing to spend?

I was looking at CPO 3 and 5 series between 2008-2010 and they are in very similar price ranges.

You're not alone, BMW should make this the standard for auto.

i've owned a 330ci for almost 12 years now. they're phenomenal cars and much faster/more pleasurable to drive than the 325. the 325 is just a bit underpowered, especially against even entry level cars of today.

btw for around $15k you can get a decent 2001-2002 M3 if you're patient and an ok negotiator.

who thought the Alpine in the 330 was a good idea?
