Why pick that over the GT500?

 

 

Interesting, I thought those wimpy little gear selectors would be exclusive to AMG. Well, the G isn't my cup of tea anyway.

 

 

 

It starts at 85.000€ in it's homecountry.

While all these exotics are lovely, this was at the recent Cars and Coffee in Dallas...

I thought it also was some AMG, but didn't know what model. But I love the G-class and with this interior even more. But for that money wouldn't I spend on that car, maybe a CL 63 AMG instead.

What I thought it was at least a 100k.

The GL63 is going to be interesting to say the least.

problem with the G class AMG's is that it's huge HP stuffed into a dated chassis that wasn't designed for high (or even, on-road) performance to begin with. it's like a brick shot from a cannon

I have yet to hear a good review of the thing; it is basically a status symbol in its purest form: crazy expensive and terrible at any job. The only reason to buy one is to prove you can. At least a supercar will go fast and a luxo-barge feels nice. This thing wont drive properly fast, wont turn or break. Only holds 5 people over any distance and wont handle off-road with any skill.

Cheaper and handles much better. You really aren't going to need 600+ HP the GT500 provides, the 444hp in the Boss is more than enough especially on the track.

im thinking about getting one of these for my jaunts into the city.  what do you think?

The Abarth? I'd consider the new turbo first since it's cheaper and practically the same car with about 20 less hp.
