Passat gets terrible mileage? i have the 2.0t and get 30+ highway, though probably 27 around town. Dont knock it, its no audi or bmw but I drive 1000+ miles a week and in construction so i'd look like an ass pulling up in anything nicer, certainly rivals any top trim beige competitor.

it gets worse mileage than my workhorse... for a car that's supposed to get the same MPG as an altima... it sure doesn't.

Hmmm. They didn't like the 06-11 models with the clunky body style and shitty center panel. I know everything's been updated but not really sure how much quality they pumped into it. Is it more technologically advanced? How's the ride on the new one compared to the previous model?

Gort - I'm trying to at least get them to take a ride in a Sonata. Something about Koreans not being as good as Japs, or some shit.

The Optima design looks like it would be more relevant, or at leaast take longer to get stale, than the Sonata. IIRC they're both based on the same platform so it would really come down to aesthetics and creature comforts.

Co-worker bought a new Camry Hybrid a couple months ago.
It's been at the dealer 4 weeks now.
He's going to start filling out the lemon law papers this weekend.

New ride I bought yesterday. 2011 Mustang with the premium package. Also has some nice upgrades like 18 inch wheels and the grill. Worked a great deal too and paid $2K less then the "absolute rock bottom best offer" they proposed when I first started negotiations. laugh.gif

If they're gonna look at Camry, might as well have them look at the Venza while they are at the Toyota dealership. In my opinion, the Venza is a great looking car (realize I might catch some criticism for this). But I really like the look of the car and think of it as the one "crossover" that seems to actually make sense. Personally, I wouldn't drive it, but I would buy it for my wife.

I take that it's not the 5.0 gt?

Drop it a few inches to get those wheels to fill out dem arches.

I actually like the Venza. If I had a kid or two, a dog, and lived in the burbs, it would be a likely contender for the family mobile. It just strikes as potentially anemic driving experience, ESPECIALLY if you get the smaller engine.
