I do really dig the Ducati Monster though.

Purists say they although they have become quite reliable they have lost most of their character.  If I were looking to purchase  a monster I would either choose a 1100s (not the evo)

Or a S4Rs

Studied till 3:30 last night and took the car out for a back road jaunt before I went to bed last night. 10/10. Can't wait to make this machine even more awesome.

Bruh, you need to stop posting when you're drunk ragey. Tesla is the 'it' car manufacturer right now, of course people are going to compare everything to it. Your zealot-esque defensiveness is frankly terrifying.

If you're terrified - it is Halloween, so forgive me - about my posts and worry about every test you have coming up in college. Good gosh. You have to have a really set of serious insecurities to post a million posts about a car you maybe sorta kinda might get.

Also, I don't drink a lot, I got suckered into a stop light to stop light race in my previous P85D, got arrested (the cops laughed and let it go) the end result being: BAC 0.00%

Is there anything wrong in what I post? I don't make 200 uninformative posts about a car I won't get. Grow a pair dude. The last time I posted drunk was the FF issue - made up for.

Bad comparison, bro.  AMD and NVIDIA are closer competitors in the GPU space.

Lulz. Nice reference.

No drinks tonight. Dinner with some ex-co-workers. Even my close friends have a tough time telling when I'm drunk or sober because I'm always angry about something. I was drunk before the blocking FF for a day incident and at my friend's wedding a few weeks earlier and don't mind a beer or glass of wine, but the way I come across on here as being angry is me being me.

It was supposed to be a bad comparison to reflect on the comment w/a made.

Oh trust me, I have plenty on my plate to worry about. Your zealotry is just baffling. Not sure what that has to do with any insecurities I might have, but it sounds like you're projecting a tad bit. You have this strange tendency to start firing off attacks when you feel like you're being called out for something. W/a made a bad comparison. Woop de fucking dooooooo. Call him out on it and get on with it. I'm not sure when you were appointed as the arbiter of 'usefulness' on this thread, but you seem to jump into the boots and then some whenever anyone talks about Tesla or Musk. I never claimed that you had no right to talk about that, but you called out his posts lack of substance with an equally substance lacking post. Don't you think folks looking at Tesla's are going to be cross shopping audi's and bimmers?

Also, those uninformative posts about cheap old cars led to some of the best posts I've seen on here with folks reminiscing about what they used to lust after and what they have/haven't worked on/built etc etc etc.

Get back to studying for those tests. I'm out. Hope Hroi, Piob, Thrift, and GF keep the thread on trail. Vamos.

Pffft. . I was at work, moaning about my car needing a new exhaust, and coilovers, and Clutch, and wheelbearings, and brake pads for the front. My boss says "just buy another car". WAT? -fack it. I always liked the sw20 Mr2.
Office lady chimez in. "Oh, my Dad had one of those". . FmL foo.gif

Chalk up another one to Mr Musk I've just ordered an S. Please don't hate me.

It was quicker than my Ghibli and quieter and tax-wise in the UK it was a no-brainer. Though some will suggest I have lost my brain no doubt.

And to get the whole "rando chat zealotry" stuff put to rest. In a forum (read up on the word forum) you need to pick a position and stand by your chosen position. Bringing forth your views. As much as you need to. Mixing with others who do the same. That is a debate/Discussion. The place for such happenings is a "Forum".

@Ramjetman picked his lot/position. And fights for discussion supremacy. I can respect that. We might be Blue corner vs Red corner. But that is what feeds a healthy debate.

Perhaps we are both capital assholes. cheers.gif
The important thing is to maintain and promote a comprehensive discussion about all things Cars. Even if he does drive the "power wheels Ford Taurus". satisfied.gif
(Been saving that one)
Let's endeavor to keep this about cars. Regardless of budget, fuel, or taste.
Because it's a wonderful car world out there.

I don't like Tesla. I don't like battery cars, period. Instantaneous torque, great ass...lots to like so folks like'em. I still don't like'em. Who cares. As a libertarian I am always aware that my opinion on anything is probably worth jack shit to others. But that's why it's just a chat forum. I like V8s that go vroom. Not necc. Magnaflow mullet level where your neighbors hate ya but a nice level of acoustics. Hell, those old trucks I've been on about I bet the average tesla fan would be like 'yechh'. Totes valid. I think we can all fire off a few jokes at the stuff we don't like while remaining a united brotherhood of automotive enthusiasts. (some guys barely care what they drive and know jackshit about what they drive..theres something worthy of true derision!)

TL;DR? Ramurelax. Come back home. Lol

Fack Batteries. Imma burn Dinosaurs until i get the Hydrogen.
Love me some "boom boom bang bang". icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

@Rev. Those old trucks are glorious.

I suspect there are Tesla fans and people who are interested in care who own a Tesla. Having owned Porsche, Maserati, Caterham, etc I am a car person who will own a Tesla and a Land Rover Defender and an Audi TT. I am with Thrift and SirR lets celebrate cars whatever they are

People give Tesla a lot of praise for their technology, but I'm not seeing the same praise lauded toward companies like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Chevy.

Cars such as the Prius, Fit, Sonic, Spark, Yaris, all minivans, etc have had state of the art (at the time) technology since the early 2000s. In the case of the minivan, dating all the way back to its inception.

What technology you ask? I don't know. It's some secret sauce. What I do know is that it optimizes the cars' performance in real time so as to: limit the drivers' speeds to 10 below the speed limit and lower the cars' redline to 1.5k rpm. The best one is the lane change prohibitor when the driver is in the left lane. And the safest one is on-ramp merge tech that allows for a slow and steady rate of acceleration limited to 5 mph incremenets over 10 second intervals. Brilliant.

It's either some sort of gps tech that geolocates the driver and matches their position against a highly accurate speed limit database, or they have advanced, hidden cameras that read the speed limit signs as the car drives. Pretty high tech OCR if you ask me to have that in a car before Tesla even launched their autopilot mode.
